National IPR Enforcement Campaign to be Extended to June

The nationwide campaign on combating IPR violations and on the production and distribution of fake and shoddy products which was scheduled to run through to the end of March, will be extended to June, 2011, according to the latest notice issued by the State Council on March 14.

IPR Strategy, Innovation Keywords in Government Report, Program

Both the government work report delivered by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on March 5 and the 12th Five Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development (2011-2015) which was examined and passed at the 4th meeting of 11th National People's Congress (NPC), were issued on March 16. The two important documents highlight implementing IP strategy and building an innovation country. Under the plan, China's invention patents per 10,000 population would raise to 3.3 by 2015.

VOV Files a Court Case for Namesake Registration

The case lodged by the Korea-based Vov Cosmetic Co.,Ltd (VOV) challenging the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board (TRAB) under the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) was rejected by Beijing No.1 Intermediate Court recently.
