What does the concept "company value" entail?

Company value is generally divided into tangible and intangible value. Tangible value includes accounts receivable, machines, factory, land, raw materials, and IPR. The values are termed tangible since they are quantifiable by virtue of existing in the form of balance sheets, annual financial statements or invoices. The intangible values include staff knowledge, databases & business contacts, relationship networks etc., which are not quantifiable in the same way due to lack of documentation in numeric form.
