24. How does the new TMO deal with Register User/ Licensee?

The concept of a Register User has been abolished, and there are provisions for a licensee (including a sub-licensee) to record their interest against the title of a trademark along with assignments and legal charges etc.
Although the recordal of a licensee is not compulsory, failure to register such an interest may render the licensee unable to recover damages etc. in respect of any infringement.
