What are the requirements for registered capital?

The requirements for registered capital depend on the type of venture capital investment organizations. The minimum registered capital for a VCIC, established as a limited liability company, is RMB 30 million (US$3.6 million); the minimum registered capital required to establish a joint-stock VCIC is RMB 50 million (US$6.04 million). The minimum registered capital to establish a VCIMC is RMB 1 million (US$120,773). In the case of VCIMCs, it is unclear whether the minimum registered capital would be able to support establishment of a company limited by shares; the company Law of the People's Republic of China generally requires companies limited by shares to have a minimum registered capital of RMB 10 million.
