Biography
A USA native, Mr. Blacklock began his legal career in 2011 working with a Chinese law firm based in Shanghai, in matters of international trade, dispute resolution, and corporate transactions and software licensing, and assisted a major multinational company in the completion of Chinese business transactions.
Mr. Blacklock has assisted European, USA, and Japanese companies in establishing business operations in China directly and with local partners, including FDI, Joint Ventures, and Mergers and Acquisitions.
Jacob is trusted by client’s in a broad range of China legal areas including Corporate Compliance, employment systems and compliance, international transactions, secured financing, dispute resolution including arbitration, commodities trading, and the establishment and management of Variable Interest Entities (VIE’s).
Protection of foreign investor’s intellectual properties is a key focus of Mr. Blacklock’s work. He has advised publicly traded companies and innovative start-ups regarding protection of trademarks, patents and copyrights in China, and in protection of this intellectual property and other trade secrets of clients through customized IP and NNN Agreements.
