SEMINAR: Thomas Klitgaard on Arbitration in China

On Tuesday, December 4, 2007, Thomas Klitgaard, partner at Dillingham & Murphy, visited the head office of Lehman, Lee & Xu in Beijing to give a seminar on arbitration in U. S.-China trade related cases. Mr. Klitgaard addressed issues related to this topic, including applying an overseas judgment or arbitration award in China, dealing with the Consuming Industries Trade Action Coalition, and a comparison of the Chinese and American approaches to arbitration and mediation.

Mr. Klitgaard has practiced law for over forty years in the United States and is an arbitrator and mediator of commercial, financial, intellectual property, distribution, and licensing disputes for the American Arbitration Association, and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution. He is an adjunct professor of law in Asian legal systems at University of San Francisco Law School.
