MOH Consults Public on Novel Foods to Be Approved

On August 12 2010, in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety Law, and based on thorough examination and verification by the Expert Appraisal Committee for Novel Foods, three substances (sucrose polyester, corn oligopeptide powder and phosphatidylserine) are to be approved as novel foods. The Ministry of Health has recently published a notice to initiate a public consultation which will end on September 7th 2010.
