China's law firm opens office in Istanbul

The office in İstanbul will be jointly operated with the reputable Çektir & Başarı law firm.

Yingke, one of the largest law firms in China, and the fastest growing law firm in Asia, announced on Friday that it has opened an office in İstanbul.

The office in İstanbul will be jointly operated with the reputable Çektir & Başarı law firm. The law firm and will be managed by lawyer and managing partner Berk Çektir.

“The practice in İstanbul has close relations with distinguished offices in other major cities in Turkey and it understands the needs of domestic and multinational companies, foreign investors and individuals who wish to do business in Turkey within the terms of Turkish law, international law and the European legal system,” the firm stated in the announcement.

Yingke also expressed its trust in Çektir’s team, which consists of several professional lawyers who have a strong ability to serve both domestic and international clientele and obtain positive results on their behalf, with its extensive expertise in the field, while providing comprehensive legal services at international standards.

The firm plans to offer consultancy to Turkish firms operating in China in mergers and acquisitions, real estate, international arbitration and foreign investment.

Officials from the Beijing-based Yingke noted in the announcement that their decision to open an office in Turkey was influenced by increasing trade between China and Turkey, in addition a rise in foreign investments in Turkey in recent years and the predicted rise of investments from China. Furthermore, 2012 has been declared the China Culture Year in Turkey and 2013 will be celebrated as the Turkey Culture Year in China.
